professor (the one who's running for Congress) has petition to abolish electoral college. must find more info about this...

also, last night he had death threat. He thought about canceling class but said it wasn't fair to us lol But dude! That's scary! The FBI & Homeland Security have been notified.

This politics stuff is dangerous.

PS test was moved to October 2nd. This gives me time to get second book and speed read to get full caught up

There are 3 things I'd LOVE to have right now

1. a decent wireless connection
2. 320 GB external hard drive
3. $3K to pay on my bills

If I had those things right now, I'd be a very happy camper.

My cell phone bill wouldn't be late, my credit card would be paid off as well as my loan to the church and the rest of my dental work done.

I don't think I'm asking for too much right now.

And my birthday is like 8 days away so I think those 3 things would be pretty nice gifts.

I think it's time to finally let my dad print off whatever papers he needs to print. I'm taking my laptop with me to school tomorrow. I want to really work on my journal for my speech class. and with 6 hours of nothing to do, I should be able to get a decent amount done. I think I'm only a half a day behind.

My cousin...ASSOCIATE PRODUCER for CNN

My Aunt (who used to be my favorite, but isn't anymore) e-mailed this to my dad. I think it's so cool someone from my family is making it!

CNN Presents: Black in America aired July 23rd & 24th at 9 pm ET. I don't have cable, so I wouldn't have been able to see it even if I had known about it.

(CNN) -- Forty years after the death of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., CNN took an unprecedented look at the state of black America in "CNN Presents: Black in America. The success, struggle, pain and pride.

Here are some of the people who made this groundbreaking series possible.

Here's the behind the scenes for that special. He says that he and some of his colleagues are interviewed. I haven't watched it yet, but I will shortly. The clip is on the right hand side of the page. It's 4 mins long and he's at roughly the 2:35 spot. When my aunt mentioned that he lost weight, wow. He lost A LOT of weight! If it weren't for his name being put up, I wouldn't have known! lol

And I also have my cousin's e-mail address. I'm debating on if I should e-mail him. I haven't seen him in YEARS and he's 22 and has a BA in Mass Communications from the University of Michigan. If I e-mail him, what the heck do I say?! LOL

The way I'm acting, you'd think I had the personal e-mail address for Cullen Jones *snickers*

3 more hours until class

I had the biggest taco salad I've had in a long time and I couldn't finish eating it. Now 3 hours later, heartburn city!

Tomorrow night is Ashanti at the Grove. I was to go, but it's at 8 pm and I have class the following morning and can't be up that late...and still have to take a bus & train back home.

I really wish I had my laptop right now. I think I'm just going to suck it up and carry it with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I have something to do. More than I have access to using the school's computers.

Oh damn! I just realized I missed the Forensics meeting. It's still going on, but I don't want to walk in on the tail end of the meeting. I'll have to see if I can remember next Tuesday.

So bored and cold right now. if I had a book I'd go outside and sit under a tree and read until I got too hot.

2 1/2 hours to go.

2 weeks to my birthday!

in roughly 2 weeks I'll be 26 and (for once) I'd like to do something fun with friends out here. For my last birthday I journeyed to Florida via Greyhound bus to see my brother, sister in law, nieces and go to a concert with a friend.

That was then though. I hadn't started classes so I was free to travel across the country. This year I'll be in school and not very keen on dropping everything to travel someplace. It's useless for me to plan anything because I never hear from anyone so this year I'd like to be surprised.

I'll be in school from 9 am to 12:30 pm and by the time I get home it'll be about 4 pm. I won't be going to my evening class.

My birthday's on a Tuesday and I'm not expecting to go out and paint the town pink, but I would like to see some friends...get some e-mails, cards, calls, text messages...stuff like that.

I'm never going to learn from my past mistakes

I'm so pissed at myself that I want to cry.

I'm hurt, upset, angry...just everything.

But all with myself.

For everything that I've done the last 2 weeks.

I swear it's 2005 all over again and I swore I wouldn't repeat that year (or any year after that) again!

I can't do this anymore. I can't trust myself anymore.

bye bye geology lab

I sat through the class and it turns out, I DID take the lab part of geology. I remembered everything we talked about (this from like 3 years ago!) and all the labs, so I told the instructor that I was dropping the class. Then I'm going to talk to my counselor and EXPLAIN (like I tried doing before) that I'd already taken the class at Cerritos and there the lecture and lab were together - on the same day in the same class. Lecture and lab were done at the same time.

Now...instead of 8 units, I'm taking 7 - lab was 1 unit.

I also have to message that guy who was supposed to send me the book and tell him he doesn't have to. Hopefully he hasn't. If so, I might sell it (if it has all the pages) or put it back up on the site to give to someone else.

So now Tuesday/Thursday I should be home by 3 or 4 pm and I can get a good night sleep those nights as well.

I have a -$20.00 balance since I dropped the class...I need to go to admissions and see what the deal with that is. I hope I don't owe them $$ for dropping the class after they've paid the fee waiver.

I can't think of anything else. It's noon, I'm hungry, so I'm going to go. Toodles!

P.S. YAY FOR 3 DAY WEEKENDS!!!!!!

wow, I got here early!

I left home at 6:30 and the next thing I knew it was 10 minutes to 8 am and I was walking across the campus parking lot!

My class isn't until 9:30 am though. Yay for an hour and a half of "free time".

I spent about 15 minutes or so, looking for where my Geology lab class was going to be and I couldn't find the room. I'm going to check online and see if it was changed or I wrote the room number down wrong. Worse case senario, I picked a class that was at Fullerton and I have to drop the class because I'd have to way to get there. But there'd be nothing bad with that, persay, because I hadn't bought the book, nor has it arrived from the person who said they would ship it to me. edit I just looked on the schedule and I have the right class listed, but no idea where that room is. In the building, the numbers go 101-113 or something like that, then 124, 125, and 126. Umm where is 123?! I'm going to go again in a bit and search again. If I can't find it, I'm going to have to ask someone...and look like a loser or something. haha

But anyways, I'm here in the computer lab and who should I see...Josh! Crazy little world that I would see him here. haha I was surprised with how he greeted me...since it's been almost a month since I last saw him. We aren't taking any of the same classes, which I guess is a relief? I don't know yet. But we know each other is on campus and we know what classes we're each taking - just not days and times.

and with my new hair do people don't recognize me right away. They give me this weird, "do I know you?" look and then when it registers, they're like "Oh hi!" lol I love that reaction!

Hmm...can't think of anything else so I guess this is the end. Toodles!

this lack of home computer thing really sucks

So it's going on 4 days without a working home computer and it sucks. My dad thinks he's found the reason it won't completely boot - the memory. If it is the memory, then he tells me that's a simple fix, but if it's not and it (hard drive) crashed (*knocks on wood that isn't the case* ) he said it could be really expensive to retrieve the data from the hard drive so I will have lost everything. Bummer!

I hope it is just the memory and nothing worse.

I get Netflix tonight! I'm so happy! Two more Doctor Who Season 2 discs and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I think first I'll watch Pirates 2 and give it to my parents, then tomorrow watch Pirates 3 and give that to them, leaving the Doctor Who discs for the weekend and if all is planned right, come next Tuesday or Wednesday (Thursday at the latest) I'll have more discs waiting for me.

This is day 4 of school, and day 2 of my Intermediate Algebra class. We have like 2 or 3 weeks to do a chapter's worth of homework and the exam is on Jan 30th. I have like 4 of the 7 or 8 sections done. This weekend I plan on doing more of them. Also, in between all my math, I have to read for my PoliSci class. Chapter 1 by tomorrow and Chapter 2 by next Tuesday.

I can't believe we're already going to have a holiday - next Monday - Martin Luther King, Jr Day. I can sleep in and watch Maury and all kinds of other TV shows.

I better get back to clearning out my e-mail. I've been here in the lab for nearly 40 minutes and still have 26 e-mails to go through in the next 15 minutes as my class is at noon! Eeps!
